Job: Encapsulation/ Blending Lead
Days- 5:30am-2:00pm, Monday-Friday
Overtime may be required.
Pay:DOE - Full time, Non-Exempt position / $1/hr shift differential for all hours worked between 10pm-6:30am
JOB SUMMARY: The main responsibility of this position is to work closely with the supervisor, maintenance, encapsulators and blenders to optimize efficiency, trouble shoot equipment, and train new employees. Additional responsibilities include various material characteristic testing, operating machines, and training in various supervisor responsibilities. This is a non-exempt job that reports to the Encapsulation Blending Supervisor. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
It is essential for all employees to adhere to Company policies.
Evaluating efficient production capability of all operators during the shift and ensuring machines are running at the highest level possible and producing quality results.
Evaluating the need for maintenance assistance and prioritizing maintenance requests.
Set-up and breakdown of machines. Work is based on specific guidelines for encapsulation machines. Set-up may consist of installation, changes and adjustments to fixtures.
Minor, simple adjustments to machines may need to be made during processing. Adjustment may require the use of hand tools.
Moves and/or stacks buckets/barrels/boxes of materials, and may load materials to work centers as applicable.
Monitor blending procedures and policies to ensure quality standards.
Checks and corrects any conditions which are not conducive to a safe, clean work place. Report any safety problems immediately.
Works with Quality Control to resolve raw material and encapsulation related challenges
Performs physical testing on raw materials and blends per established procedures
Complete and check documentation.
Comfortable with communicating and giving feedback as needed to employees and management
Maintains clean and orderly work area including: cleaning machines, breakdown of machine, tools and area around work station.
Ability to be at the physical location of the job at the designated shift assigned.
Train new operators and/or participate in a task force to improve and establish company procedures and operations.
High School diploma or GED required
Three to six years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Target industries include pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, electronic, chemical, cosmetics and food.
Preferred experience operating a Bosch machine.
Hand truck, electric forklift experience preferred.
Ability to read and write Basic English, basic shop math skills, algebra, and basic computer skills.
Experience with FDA/cGMP compliance is preferred
