Quality Assurance Specialist


Position: Quality Assurance Specialist

Shift: Days, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (hours may vary)

Pay: DOE - Full time, Non-Exempt position


JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for receiving, tracking, and processing of external and internal product inquiries and complaints. This will include but not be limited to responding to the originator of the inquiry, developing resolutions, and avoidance of the issue in the future.  The QA Specialist will also support and serve as a backup to other quality functions.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Receive, track, process, and respond to customer complaints.
  2. Perform and manage investigations regarding customer complaints and work with appropriate departments to develop solutions for resolution and avoidance of future re-occurrence.
  3. Generates suggestions for improving work.
  4. Support and help with effective resolution of customer and cGMP audit action items.
  5. Track and investigate corrective and preventative actions.
  6. Serve as a technical resource or conduit for Quality related inquiries from internal customers.
  7. Organize and manage multiple projects on an as-needed basis.
  8. Able to provide training and guidance as necessary.
  9. Perform Out-of-Specification investigations.
  10. Support Quality team as needed.

 

Education/SKILL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A.S. degree or better in Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline.
  2. Project management or similar experience preferred
  3. Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  4. Root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action experience preferred.
  5. Experience in Six sigma or lean manufacturing practices preferred.
  6. Forklift certified and/or willingness to be forklift certified
  7. Technical writing skills
  8. Familiar with Microsoft applications such as MS Office.
  9. Experience with FDA/cGMP compliance is preferred
  10. Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  11. Ability to work independently
  12. Requires a well-developed ability to read, write, and communicate in English in relation to topics of a complex or technical nature
  13. A legal right to work in the United States
