Job: Raw Material Quality Coordinator
Shift: Days, Monday-Friday 7am-330pm (hours may vary - flexibility is essential)
Pay: DOE - Full time, Non-Exempt position
The main responsibility of this position is to coordinate and disposition incoming raw materials used within the dietary supplement manufacturing process following cGMP guidelines and established procedures. Included in these responsibilities are reviewing the raw material Certificates-of-Analysis for compliance to Purchase Specifications, the representative sampling of raw materials, the internal submission of raw material samples for analysis, and labeling of raw materials. This position works closely with the Material Quality Documentation, Material Handler, Customer Service, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Production. A. Per established procedures, review incoming raw material Certificates-of-Analysis for compliance to purchase specifications and results to coordinate the disposition Provide labels for approved raw materials used within the manufacturing process for dietary supplements.
B Process raw materials for rejection per established procedures in a timely manner, including coordinating with Purchasing. Interact with Vendors when necessary on rejected material.
C. Work closely with Quality Control and Quality Assurance to insure proper disposition of all raw materials.
D. Troubleshoot ingredient non-conformances and inquiries, including communicating to ingredient vendors and/or 3rd party labs. Includes making recommendations and assuring appropriate internal processes are being followed.
E. Communicate issues and assist in maintaining raw material specifications.Submit raw material samples for internal and contract laboratory analysis in a timely manner.
F. Provide backup to the Raw Material Handler to sample incoming raw materials in a timely manner per established procedures.
G. Sampling/labeling materials lifting/stacking up to and including 60 lbs. daily.
H. Help perform physical characteristics testing of raw materials as needed.
I. Document any internal non-conformances and out-of-specification conditions, investigate the root cause, recommend corrective actions, and make appropriate decisions for resolving such non-conformances and out-of-specification conditions.
J. Communicate any non-conformance issues in a timely fashion to customer service, purchasing, and other appropriate staff.
K. To have an understanding and ability to run basic analytical tests as needed.
L. To support the QC Manager or others during the investigations for any non-conformances or customer complaints.
M. Able to provide training and guidance as necessary.
N. Maintain the organization of raw material sample room to adhere to GMPs sanitation and cleanliness

A. A.S. degree in Food science, Biology, or Chemistry. BS is preferred.
B. 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferably within quality control,
C. Experience with FDA/cGMP compliance is preferred
D. Experience with MS Office
E. Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
F. Ability to work independently
G. Requires a well-developed ability to read, write, and speak English in relation to topics of a complex or technical nature
